Miami Grand Prix

After a long time of speculation, this became the second Grand Prix in the United States in 2022. In 2023, F1 added a third stop in America because of the introduction of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Formula 1 cars will race at the Miami International Autodrome for the Miami Grand Prix.

The Miami Grand Prix 2024

Miami also wanted to be part of the F1 calendar for a while. In 2022, the time came. The circuit is built around the Hard Rock Stadium with three DRS zones and 19 corners. Formula 1 cars are expected to reach a top speed of 320 kilometres per hour.

The 2022 edition was very fitting of the early part of the season. Leclerc and Sainz both qualified ahead of Verstappen, but on race day the Red Bull driver had the speed. The Dutchman survived a late safety car period to take the win. Valtteri Bottas looked likely for a P5 finish, but the drivers for his former team made their way past in the late stages. In 2023, Verstappen won the race despite a pole position for Sergio Perez. The Dutchman didn't look back from that point onwards in the 2023 Formula 1 season. In 2024, Red Bull arrive as favourites once again.

What does the Miami GP race weekend look like?

The 2024 Miami Grand Prix will use the sprint format. That means teams and drivers get just 60 minutes of practice before the meaningful sessions start. Qualifying for the sprint race will take place on Friday. The sprint race is the first session on Saturday before Parc Ferme is unlocked so teams can adjust their cars. Qualifying for the main race will take place on Saturday. The Miami Grand Prix itself will be on Sunday, May 5.
