Not a day goes by without Red Bull Racing and Mercedes launching attacks on each other. Max Verstappen said in the press conference prior to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix that he doesn't want to get involved. Furthermore, Verstappen says he is not thinking of a crash with Lewis Hamilton in the final phase of the 2021 season.

"I've always been very neutral, not very positive or negative. I don't read too much into it and keep myself busy with other things in life," Verstappen is quoted as saying by Motorsport-Magazin.com. Indeed, the Dutchman has enough entertainment outside of GP weekends to not have to deal with that. "Of course I do my things in the simulator, but I also have other things in life. That helps a lot."

Experience Hamilton

Hamilton already has seven world titles under his belt in the premier class of motorsport, but Verstappen doesn't necessarily see that as an advantage over his great rival. According to the 24-year-old driver, who is already in his seventh season in Formula 1, it will make little difference. "I don't think it makes a big difference," he said.

Furthermore, Verstappen says he is not at all concerned about a crash. The battle for the championship can be decided by a crash in the last two Grands Prix. If both drivers retire after an incident, one of them will always benefit from it. According to Verstappen, he isn't thinking of this scenario.
