Marko analyses first day: 'We have the biggest problem with that'

Max Verstappen had to settle for second and fourth during the first two free practice sessions of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. His competitor Lewis Hamilton did a lot better with two first places. Helmut Marko is not worried though, as he tells Motorsport.com.
Verstappen and Hamilton cannot afford any mistakes this weekend. The Dutchman is still eight points ahead in the world championship, but after this weekend that could be almost equal. Just before the apotheosis in Abu Dhabi, both drivers will take on each other on an unfamiliar track.
Marko's first impression was good, he stressed. "At the moment Mercedes doesn't have any advantage," states the Red Bull advisor "It seems strange that we are better on some tyres and that there is such a big difference between the compounds. We are convinced that we are ahead here."

Marko is clear where the Austrian racing stable can still improve. "We have the biggest problem with the soft tyre. The tuning we did was great on the hard tyre and it was pretty good on the medium tyre. But we have a problem with the soft tyre."
