Team correct Marko: Red Bull will not appeal!
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing will exercise its right to appeal the stewards' decision not to penalise Lewis Hamilton for ignoring yellow flags. The team disagrees with the decision given the grid penalty Max Verstappen received in Qatar for a similar incident.
Marko wants appeal against Mercedes decision
Marko told 'ServusTV': "We have appealed against this decision. In Qatar, Max gets a five grid place penalty. Here suddenly yellow is no longer yellow. There is another interpretation. But it cannot be that way go on in such a way that one interprets it in such an arbitrary way."
GPblog asked Red Bull if the protest is official yet and if the FIA is aware of it, but the spokesman could not yet confirm this.
UPDATE | Red Bull will not protest
The spokesman for Red Bull Racing has confirmed to GPblog that the team will not appeal against the failure to impose a grid penalty on Lewis Hamilton. With that, the words of Helmut Marko are not true.
