Max Verstappen hit the wall in the final corner at Jeddah. This meant the end of his qualifying, but the damage seemed minor at first sight. Helmut Marko doesn't want to take any risks though.

Marko thinks back to Leclerc crash

Marko immediately thinks back to Charles Leclerc's crash at Monaco earlier this season and says the following about the gearbox at ServusTV: "We need to take it apart and look at it. We saw it with Leclerc in Monte Carlo. They [Ferrari ] had decided not to change anything and then, bang, on the warm-up lap the consequences became clear." Leclerc ended up not even appearing at the start in his home race.

"We are so fast that we are not taking any risks," Marko said confidently. "If the gearbox has damage or is approaching, we will change it." According to Marko, it is difficult to overtake in Saudi Arabia, but Verstappen cannot afford a pointless weekend.
