Verstappen's nerves were killing him: 'This was not good for my heart'

As if the final stage of the world championship wasn't exciting enough, new world champion Max Verstappen had to wait for hours before he was told whether his victory was confirmed.
Verstappen was nervous all day long
The Dutchman admits he was waiting for the result with a considerably high heart rate. "This was not good for my heart," he told The Telegraph. He admits to having had his nerves pretty much in a spin all day.
Usually the Red Bull Racing driver is quite relaxed, but after the final race we saw a very emotional Verstappen. "I've never felt this emotion before. Nothing comes close to it," said the brand new world champion.
He describes his emotions as 'crazy'. Waiting for hours for the decision didn't make it any less so, of course. According to Verstappen the whole day is typical for the exciting 2021 Formula 1 season.
