After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen took his first world title in F1, the Dutchman could not immediately enjoy his rest after the long season. Today he tested the new tyres from Pirelli for the 2022 season.

In terms of fast times the test was not very exciting, with the Dutchman setting the 17th fastest time. The test was all about getting a feel for the tyres and a lot of laps were driven.

"It felt good to be back behind the wheel and it was good to get a feel for the new tyres. Everything went smoothly and there were no major shocks around the tyres, which is always positive", Verstappen says in the official press release from Red Bull Racing.

Positive day for Verstappen

The world champion is positive about his day, although Jos Verstappen has already indicated that he is a little fed up with it. The Limburger is therefore looking forward to going home and doing things off the track.

"Everything changes next year and the cars will be very different, so it’s good to have initial information about the tyres. It was a good day today at the end of a very long but ultimately massively rewarding season and now I’m very much looking forward to some time away from the racetrack!” Verstappen ends.
