For years BWT was one of the major sponsors of first Racing Point and last season the Aston Martin team. Racing Point's cars were even in pink, as this is the colour of the Austrian water company. But, it the cooperation with Aston Martin and BWT has seems to have now come to an end.

Coincidence?

BWT can no longer be found on Aston Martin's sponsor list. Coincidence? Perhaps, because last year, too, it took until the end of January for BWT to renew its sponsorship contract with Aston Martin. Since the turn of the year, the new season has actually started, so it is possible that the contractual obligations have simply ended.

Yet BWT dropping out comes to the surface at a remarkable time - on the same day that Otmar Szafnauer announced that he was stepping down from his role as Aston Martin team principal, BWT also seems to be leaving. Szafnauer, according to the rumors, is said to be joining Alpine. That is precisely the team that was previously rumored to have BWT as one of its new major sponsors.

Linked to Szafnauer exit?

The coming weeks will undoubtedly reveal whether Szafnauer will make the switch to Alpine and whether BWT will follow in his wake. Earlier the American denied the rumors about Alpine, although he did not exclude anything, but in Formula 1 everything can change from one day to another.
