Red Bull Racing is sticking with its choice of Sergio Perez as Max Verstappen's teammate for now, but it should be clear that Pierre Gasly continues to covet that seat as well. He has had a chance in the Red Bull car, but has grown tremendously in his time at AlphaTauri. Red Bull should therefore be on the lookout for other candidates to snatch up the Frenchman when his contract expires.

According to rumors, Mercedes has its eye on the AlphaTauri driver, whose contract expires in 2023. It is still unclear what Lewis Hamilton's plans are for 2023 and whether George Russell can live up to expectations.

Will Gasly be snatched up by Mercedes?

According to Express Red Bull should therefore pay close attention to avoid Gasly being snatched up by Toto Wolff's team. The 25-year-old Frenchman is very outspoken about his expectations: he wants more recognition from Red Bull Racing and feels he is ready for a second chance in the car alongside Verstappen.

So should Red Bull want to park him at AlphaTauri in 2023 as well, it's quite possible that Gasly won't agree to that lightly. In that case, there is a significant chance that he will leave the Red Bull family to which he has been loyal for so long.
