Jos Verstappen in action again
January 14th at two o'clock in the afternoon, the start signal of the 24-hour race in Dubai is fired. Together with three other drivers the former F1 driver and father of the new F1 champion will try to complete the 24 hours. One of those drivers is Thierry Vermeulen, son of Raymond Vermeulen the manager of Verstappen.
The race will be held at the Dubai Autodrome. The event was first organized in 2006. Fun fact is that this race was won by the Düller Motorsport team. They drove a BMW M3 and none other than Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was the fourth driver.
The GP Elite team with which Vermeulen and Verstappen will be driving also includes drivers Roger Hodenius and Steven van Rhee. It will be quite a challenge for the 49-year-old Dutchman. His age, however, does not have to diminish his chances of winning. Dieter Quester won the first two editions of the prestigious event at the age of 66 and 67.
