The partnership between Sauber, Alfa Romeo and Orlen that competes in Formula 1 under the name Alfa Romeo Racing Team ORLEN is changing its name and logo for the coming season. They want to show more clearly that they belong to an exclusive group.

Alfa Romeo becomes a 'real' F1 team

Not much is going to change, but the new name will put more emphasis on the fact that it is an F1 team. Alfa Romeo Racing did not show that well enough and the new name will therefore be: Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN. The addition of 'F1 team' to the name is a sign of honor: "It stands for our inclusion in one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. The club consists of only ten teams that are allowed to bear this prestigious title. It also shows the strong racing DNA of both Sauber and Alfa Romeo."

The team's press statement goes on to say that the team's new identity will be seen in action for the first time at the pre-season winter tests in Barcelona next month. This new identity further represents a new approach that the team will adopt in the new era that the sport is entering from this year. Finally, the team reports that the name of the chassis as it is currently registered with the FIA will also change from Alfa Romeo Racing to just Alfa Romeo.
