Much has been changed at Williams since its takeover by Dorilton Capital in 2020, and that renewal of staff appears to be continuing. For example, Williams has now parted ways with technical director Adam Carter, The Race have announced.

Williams has eye on the future

Williams' new owners want to do everything they can to bring the team back to the top. The changes began with the appointment of team boss Jost Capito and technical chief Francois-Xavier Demaison. It was up to Demaison to restructure the technical staff. According to him, Williams has great engineers with a lot of experience, but it must be ensured that they share their different skills so that together they all design the best Formula One car.

Carter's departure from Williams

Within that restructuring, Williams is now saying goodbye to Adam Carter, employed by the team since 2016. Carter took over technical control in 2019 following the departure of Paddy Lowe. "As we look ahead to our technical strategy and requirements for the coming year and beyond, we have made changes to our technical structure, " Capito let us know. He thanks Carter for his hard work for and contribution to the team in recent years.

The technical restructuring at Williams is a long process, agrees Demaison. According to the Frenchman, Williams has not evolved at the same pace as Formula 1, and the sport has become very complicated. The team has hired many young engineers who need to be brought up to speed. It is now up to Demaison to lay a good foundation and thus bring the team back to the top in the coming years.
