By now we have had three car unveilings. Haas F1 kicked off last Friday, Red Bull Racing followed on Wednesday and on Thursday it was Aston Martin's turn. The British racing team was the first team to actually exhibit the 2022 car, while the other formations basically only presented the livery. What is there to see about Aston Martin's AMR22?

In 2022, the new regulations make their appearance in Formula 1 and so the teams want to reveal as little as possible. Haas F1 only revealed the livery, while Red Bull seemed to show the F1 showcar with Red Bull colours to the outside world. Aston Martin is going a step further and revealing more details with the released photos, although plenty will still change towards the winter tests and the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain.

The nose of the AMR22 doesn't seem to be that wide, at least it's shorter than we saw on the F1 show model Red Bull showed off. Compared to the Haas F1 car, the nose of the Aston Martin is a bit less angular. What is also notable is that the tip of the nose does not protrude beyond the front wing. We can't say much about the front suspension yet; Aston Martin is keeping that a secret for the time being.

What is even more striking are the square air intakes at the somewhat flatter sidepods, while we saw more oval sidepods at Haas F1 and Red Bull. Moreover, at first glance there also seem to be indentations on top of the sidepods. These could be cooling fins. We also notice the slots at the rear of the bodywork. This also serves for cooling.

The airbox, located right behind the cockpit, is actually almost identical to past seasons. We still see the bump that is common to the Mercedes customer teams. Mercedes thus maintains the same design in terms of the power unit.
