Wolff and Mercedes not going ahead of themselves: "Hope we are competitive"

Toto Wolff remains grounded in his statements ahead of the 2022 season. The Mercedes team boss hopes his team can fight for the world championship again like last year, but he told the fans that this is not a guarantee. With the new regulations being introduced, the battle order on the grid could look very different next year.
"The hopes are first of all that we have a competitive car, it is not a given with the new regulations, people are saying that we are going to win another title and i think we don't know whether we even in the hunt for another title," Wolff said during the launch of the new W13.
Mercedes have given everything
The hard work at the Brackley factory certainly didn't stop there. According to Wolff, Mercedes has a fantastic team consisting of more than 2,000 people who have given their all in recent months. That is also precisely a strength of Mercedes, according to the Austrian team boss.
"What i know is that this team always been able even if circumstances were difficult like the beginning of last yea to just through dig ourselves out of an advantageous situation and wherever the car," Wolff continued in conversation with presenter Natalie Pinkman. "I'm sure that we will be doing everything to be as competitive as we are so my hope is that the car goes fast and that Lewis and George are happy with how it drives."
