Lewis Hamilton hopes that things will soon change within the FIA. According to the driver, this is necessary to raise the level of decisions within Formula 1 in the coming years.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix came up regularly in the last two months when talking about last season. Hamilton lost to Max Verstappen on the last lap of the race, after the race committee decided to drive one more lap. It caused frowned eyebrows at Mercedes.
At other times during the season the stewards also looked unsure of their business, which led to criticism. The FIA then decided to intervene and launch an investigation, one of the conclusions of which was to say goodbye to race director Michael Masi. However, it is not enough for Hamilton to drastically raise the level, he told Motorsport.com.
Hamilton demands more changes from FIA
Hamilton believes it is important that the stewards are no longer friends with certain drivers. Moreover, he believes that the diversity should be increased. He proposes to appoint two stewards, one man and one woman, over a whole season. According to him, this will ensure that the drivers can have more confidence in the decisions taken.
