Grand Prix of Russia is not in danger according to Mazepin
- GPblog.com
Nikita Mazepin is not worried about the Russian Grand Prix going ahead. Despite the fact that his country has now invaded Ukraine and many countries want sanctions against it, the Russian himself is not that worried.
On Thursday morning it became clear that Russia has infact invaded the neighboring country. Several explosions are already being reported and alarms are going off in several cities.
Formula 1 is sympathetic to the situation in Ukraine and they are already monitoring the situation regarding the inclusion of the Russian GP that takes place in september.
No worries about Russian GP
When Mazepin was asked about this situation by Crash.net, then he expressed no concern. "From what I understand from Formula 1, the race will go on as usual and so you will definitely see me driving there,'' says the Haas driver. Although September is still a long way off, F1 will also be monitoring the situation.
However, the Formula One driver does not want to get too involved. He states that he wants to keep sport and politics separate at all. He is mainly focusing on the winter test in Barcelona, where he is testing out the VF22 together with Mick Schumacher.
