Formula 1 does not want to make any statements about the Russian Grand Prix for the time being. In a statement, the organization says that they are keeping an eye on the situation between Russia and Ukraine.

Tensions between Ukraine and Russia have been running high. On Thursday morning, Russia reportedly invaded the neighboring country causing air alarms to go off in several Ukrainian cities. Russia speaks of a peacekeeping mission in the country, but that is not the West's view.

September 25 is the supposed date for the Russian Grand Prix. Although that is still very far away, it is not crazy to already look at whether F1 should want to go to such a country. In a statement, Formula 1 says that it does not want to make any statements about that right now, but it is monitoring the situation.

Nikita Mazepin also reacted to the situation. The Russian himself hopes to be able to race in his own country later this year and understood from Formula 1 that it can continue for the time being. However, if nations want to impose sanctions, you wonder if a major media circus like F1 will still want to travel to Russia.
