Putin's invasion of Ukraine has strained relations between Russia and the vast majority of the rest of the world. Formula One called an emergency meeting the same day of the invasion and decided not to go to Sochi for this year's Russian Grand Prix.

The FIA said in a statement: "On Thursday evening, Formula 1, the FIA and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion is, including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix under the current conditions."

This means that we will go from 23 Grands Prix to 22 GPs in 2022 for now. Knowing Liberty Media, however, they will do everything possible to add another weekend to replace the Russian GP. The Russian GP was scheduled from 23 to 25 September.
