The Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) has on the official website reacted to the FIA's decision to intervene due to the Russian war in Ukraine. The organisation believes that Formula 1 is definitely not acting according to the rules.

Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine and as a result, many innocent civilians have already become victims. The FIA decided to take action and announced this week that the Russian Grand Prix could not take place. The Russian driver Nikita Mazepin was also placed under restrictions.

The driver will not be allowed to race under the Russian flag in the coming period, with which the FIA makes a clear statement against the violence in Ukraine. The RAF was strongly opposed to the decisions, as was clear from the text it published on its website.

RAF expresses strong criticism of FIA

According to the RAF, the FIA is certainly not acting fairly in the matter. "The Russian Automobile Federation considers a possible decision to remove Russian athletes from participation in competitions to be discriminatory and in violation of the FIA Statutes," it said. However, the FIA is taking little notice of the criticism, as it revealed on Thursday afternoon that it has torn up the contract of the Russian GP.
