'Andretti tried to reach Wolff to talk about statements'
- GPblog.com
Mario Andretti has reportedly contacted Toto Wolff to clear up misunderstandings, Adam Stern reports. The Sports Business Journal journalist spoke with father Michael Andretti for this purpose.
The Andretti family is hoping to secure a Formula One starting ticket in 2024. It would mean that the motorsport class would go to eleven teams in two years, which would cause a lot of resistance from the other teams. Among other things, they would fear that the amount to be spent per team will be less.
According to Michael and Mario Andretti, however, there is no question of that. They argue that Formula 1 teams can actually make more money from 2024, as they would attract more sponsors to the sport. Toto Wolff is not convinced of this as yet, as he showed during the test days in Barcelona. The team boss showed little enthusiasm for the plan.
