Haas asks Formula 1 for extra test day in Bahrain after missed morning
- GPblog.com
Haas may get a chance from Formula 1 to make up for missed test time on Sunday morning. Mick Schumacher will be in action on behalf of the American team during that test.
Haas will not yet be in action at the Bahrain International Circuit on Thursday morning because the car is not quite ready. The team's parts arrived at the circuit a day later because the cargo plane that was supposed to carry the parts was delayed in Istanbul. As a result, Haas missed a morning program, but has submitted a request to F1 to make up for that on Sunday morning.
Extra chance for Haas
The winter test in Bahrain officially lasts until Saturday, but the teams will stay in Bahrain because the first Grand Prix will also be held there. So for Haas, the ideal opportunity to make up some time. According to The Race it would be a session of two hours instead of four.
Pietro Fittipaldi will still be in action as a test driver on Thursday afternoon, after which the newly presented Kevin Magnussen will share Friday and Saturday with his teammate Mick Schumacher. The young German will then get the chance to drive the VF22 one last time on Sunday morning, provided the application is approved, before the first Grand Prix weekend gets underway.
