Internet reacts to Bahrain qualifying with hilarious memes
- GPblog.com
The first qualifying session of the 2022 Formula 1 season was chillingly exciting, so that promises something for the season ahead. The pole position of Charles Leclerc, the disappointing Mercedes and the surprisingly strong performance of Kevin Magnussen and Haas were food for the creative minds on the internet. Here are some of the reactions.
Of course, there is a lot of talk about Leclerc's pole position. It was the Monegasque's first pole since he qualified P1 in Monaco last year when he was unable to start the race.
Attention to Bottas and Haas
There is also attention for Valtteri Bottas, who seems to be able to compete with his former employer after being sent away from Mercedes. He will start on the same row as Lewis Hamilton, which will be a somewhat strange sensation for both drivers.
Haas is not forgotten either. While Guenther Steiner's team struggled to make it to Q2 once last year, returnee Kevin Magnussen effortlessly made it to Q3 and qualified his Haas in seventh place.

This man has gone through myriads of emotions over the years but always stayed 'Gunther'!
I hope he gets moments like this consistently. I am not taking the limelight away from the drivers, but Haas is resilient because of him. #F1 #BahrainGP pic.twitter.com/peYgfmnjMw
