Exciting start GP Saudi Arabia | Verstappen grabs spot immediately
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen can look back with satisfaction at his start in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Dutchman immediately grabbed a spot by overtaking Carlos Sainz and is therefore now driving in third position.
Where Verstappen hoped to end up in front of the Ferrari's in qualifying, he failed to do so. However, when the lights went out for the start of the race, the reigning world champion immediately saw room to overtake his predecessor Sainz. It ensures that he is now on P3.
His teammate Sergio Perez also had a strong start. The Mexican was allowed to start the race from pole position and had a good start immediately, preventing Charles Leclerc from overtaking him. In the following turns Perez also managed to defend his position.

Hamilton still fails to convince
Lewis Hamilton had to start from fifteenth position due to a disappointing start. He hoped to overtake a number of predecessors in the first laps, but he came no further than fourteenth place. The Briton is therefore apparently facing a very tough race.
