This season we have three teams battling it out to see who will be world champion. Red Bull Racing and Ferrari are the two with the most speed in them and although Mercedes can't match that speed right now, they have already shown the ability to get podium finishes and are second in the constructors' standings.

However, according to Karun Chandhok, the results do not show the extent of the problems, he explained on Twitter. "It’s also pretty clear that there is no quick fix for Mercedes this year, further underlining how hard it must have been to fight last year and be competitive again."

Red Bull with headaches about the engine

One team that has proven this is Red Bull. Last year, they were developing the RB16B until the last Grand Prix of the season and yet they managed to win races again in 2022. According to Chandhok, that is a very impressive achievement by the Milton Keynes-based team, although things are also far from perfect there at the moment.

"They know that they need to get reliability sorted now. That will not be easy as the issues in Bahrain and Australia are different to each other and are different to the engine failures Alpha Tauri have had."

The former F1 driver notes that there is no trend in the problems that Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda have had and therefore they are all unique problems to Red Bull Powertrains engine.
