Binotto coy: "Ferrari is not managing the championship"
- GPblog.com
After an ironclad start to the Formula 1 season, Ferrari has exceeded even its own expectations. Team boss Mattia Binotto admits that he did not expect the F1-75 to have such a killer pace.
With two wins in three races, Ferrari is well in the lead in both championships. This confirms the feelings that arose during the winter test: Ferrari currently has the strongest package.
Binotto is not yet thinking about the championship
Although Binotto says Ferrari knew the F1-75 would be competitive, he did not expect to start the season so strongly. He says he was surprised by the car that Ferrari has put in place and thinks that the team owes this mainly to the work it put into the new car in 2021.
At the same time, he stresses that Red Bull Racing can still make things difficult for them. "We are not managing the championship now. It's only three races into the season," says the Ferrari boss to Sky Sports. He therefore states that the focus is on each individual race and that the championship is not yet in mind.
