Ferrari is having an excellent season. After three good Grands Prix, Charles Leclerc is far on top in the World Championship, so the Monegasque can afford to make a misstep. However, according to Mattia Binotto, the rumors surrounding the engine are not true.
It is the first time in years that Ferrari seems to be having a serious go at a world title. The Italian team seems to have built a reliable car for this race year. For the time being the car seems to be even better than that of direct competitor Red Bull Racing.
"That's not correct," the team boss stated about the rumors to, among others Formule1.nl. "We introduced things last season that we kept. We were always going for the maximum performance."
Leclerc starts from P2 in sprint race
In Italy this weekend Ferrari hoped to take pole position for the sprint race, but they failed. Max Verstappen managed to set the fastest time, which means he can start from the front. Carlos Sainz did not get further than P10 due to a crash.
