Lewis Hamilton will be in action this coming weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix. In Barcelona, he won the race the last five years, but this season it doesn't seem to be going well. The Briton is fed up with the situation, he told Auto, Motor und Sport.
Whereas with Mercedes he could count on a place with a top team for years, this season he mainly has to compete with the sub top teams of the driver's field. The German racing team is working hard to improve the car at a rapid pace but keeps running into problems.
Hamilton makes comparison with period at McLaren
For Hamilton, it is not the first time in his career that he has experienced a disappointing start to the season. Thirteen years ago he was still under contract to McLaren and it also failed to meet expectations. However, the driver states that it was a different situation back then.
"This time we achieved the goals we had set," Hamilton explains in the interview. "In theory, the downforce is good. In reality, the porpoising is in the way, and that's not a problem that can be solved overnight."
