Whereas Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto indicated after the Miami Grand Prix that he hoped Red Bull Racing had already taken a big bite out of its budget, according to Max Verstappen, that is not the case for the time being.

Verstappen optimistic about Red Bull budget

In an interview with Formula1.com the Dutchman says that the peak has not yet been reached and that there is therefore still plenty of potential in the RB18's upcoming developments. "Plenty left in the tank," says Verstappen.

He praises his team, which works 'very efficiently' both on the track and in the factory. The budget cap in particular is a very strong point of the Austrian racing stable, according to the world champion. "I think we are definitely one of the best on the grid with that," he says confidently.

So there's more than enough in the pipeline for Red Bull Racing, whose attention in Spain has undoubtedly been drawn to Aston Martin's B-spec. Indeed, the AMR22B looks suspiciously like the Adrian Newey-designed RB18.
