Norris tempers expectations: 'We're not back to that level yet'

Lando Norris had an excellent weekend in Monaco last year. The young Briton qualified fifth and eventually finished third in the race. His second podium finish in the first five races of the season. However, the chances of the McLaren driver being able to repeat that this year seem slim.
Norris looks forward to Monaco weekend
The Monaco Grand Prix is a race for many drivers to look forward to. So too for Norris. "It will be nice to race so close to home, especially since I can wake up in my own bed," said the Briton in his team's press release. Norris is one of many drivers who reside in the principality on the Mediterranean Sea.
Norris would sign up for a similar result to last year this coming weekend but is also realistic. "Last year was a fantastic race for me and although we're not back to that level yet, I'm hoping we can get a few good points here. Qualifying on Saturday will be key, but it will be interesting to see how the race goes on Sunday with these new cars."
Tough race in Spain
The race in Barcelona last weekend was not easy for Norris. The current number seven in the championship was struggling with inflamed tonsils. "Spain was incredibly tough, but I was very happy to grab some points for the team," he said. Ahead of the race in Monaco, the Briton wants to rest especially well. "I'm taking these few days to focus on getting better."
