Ferrari could not have started the Monaco Grand Prix weekend in a better way. Following on from the first free practice session, Charles Leclerc was also the fastest man in the field in Friday's second practice session. Red Bull Racing seems to be looking at a gap of several tenths.

Leclerc trumped teammate Carlos Sainz by going four hundredths faster around the Monaco circuit. Sergio Perez conceded nearly four tenths, while Max Verstappen failed to get beyond a fourth time. 'Best of the rest' is Lando Norris. The McLaren seems to be going reasonably well, because also in the first free practice the team from Woking was in a good position.

Daniel Ricciardo crashed hard in the last sector early in FP2. The damage to the Australian's car was too great, so he was unable to put a time on the clock.
