Charles Leclerc will start from pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. The Monegasque is more than satisfied with the result at his home circuit. He expects Ferrari to be competitive in all weather conditions.

"It's very special. I'm so incredibly happy. So far it's been a smooth weekend. I knew the pace was in the car to get the job done. It went perfectly, that last lap before the red flag was really good, but it didn't change anything for us anyway," Leclerc told us after qualifying.

Sergio Perez crashed in the closing stages of Q3, preventing Leclerc from completing his lap. It didn't matter to the Ferrari driver though, as he already had the fastest time on the board. Leclerc was even faster on the track with a purple sector before the red flag.

Ferrari competitive according to Leclerc

"It was really on the limit because I had quite a bit of oversteer. In the last sector, I was struggling to warm up the tires properly because there was a lot of traffic, but the lap time was still good. I was improving quite a bit, I think I was four tenths faster before I stopped. It was a good lap, but to be honest, the car was great. It's great to have Carlos on the front row with me as well."

For Sunday's race, there is a high chance of rain. However, Leclerc expects Ferrari to be competitive in all conditions. "I think dry weather is a bit more predictable, but whatever comes, I think we will be competitive."
