Sebastian Vettel is done with the accusations against Aston Martin and defends his team. The British team stood out in Spain by showing up with a car that was very similar to the Red Bull Racing RB18.

Aston Martin caused a stir in Spain when it showed the B specification of the AMR22 to the world. There were unmistakable similarities to the RB18, so the first accusations of copycat behaviour soon headed towards the Aston Martin.

Vettel defends Aston Martin

Vettel disagrees with the accusations and stands up for his team, "I think at one point it just wasn't fair anymore. Especially when it comes to the effort that has been put into further developing the car," the German let it be known via the German branch of Sky Sports.

What did not improve matters for Aston Martin is the fact that the British team recently took over a significant amount of staff from Red Bull. These people include Dan Fallows, who worked as head of the aerodynamics department at the Austrians until 2021. Vettel feels that the debate was dragged to a personal level and calls it unfair. "Some things that were said were not correct in my opinion," the four-time world champion says of Fallows.

Work already started in winter

During the weekend in Spain, Vettel's teammate, Lance Stroll, also had to defend himself. He said that the British formation had already started working on the second version of the AMR22 in the winter.
