Sergio Perez is on a roll after winning the Monaco Grand Prix and re-signing for two years at Red Bull Racing. The contract extension, which came a lot earlier than we are used to from the team, ensures that the Mexican can fully focus on putting in strong performances.

Perez happy and motivated by Red Bull contract extension

In a Red Bull press release, he says he is delighted with his new contract, which he sees as a sign of good cooperation and mutual satisfaction. "Having my future decided allows me to stay one hundred percent focused on the main goal of winning races and world titles," reads Perez's ambitious statement.

"Two years ago I was without a seat in F1 and today I'm in the best team," the Mexican jubilated. "I can only say that I am happy and very grateful for this opportunity."

He strongly feels that he is at the peak of his career and driving for a team that is always looking for perfection. "That's the perfect match for me and for any driver."

He still daydreams about the special win in Monaco, but stresses that it is now time to put his emotions aside and focus on the next race in Baku. "The championship fight is really tight, so we need to be totally focused," Perez concludes.
