Max Verstappen was only able to register six points in the drivers' championship. Thanks to his first win in Formula 1, Carlos Sainz makes the jump to P4. Meanwhile Charles Leclerc has managed to reduce his deficit, if only by a few points.

Verstappen retains the lead in the championship despite finishing seventh in the race. Teammate Sergio Perez and Leclerc are closing in on the Dutchman, but the gap between title rivals Verstappen and Leclerc is still 43 points. The Monegasque gains just six points over Verstappen as he missed out on the podium after Ferrari's strategic choice.

George Russell misses out on a lot of points after his DNF, which saw Sainz overtake him for P4. Lewis Hamilton also continued to gain on the Briton as the seven-time world champion managed to finish third.
