Verstappen denies Red Bull are developing the car around him

Sergio Perez put in a fine performance in the sprint race for the Austrian Grand Prix, but ahead of the race weekend at the Red Bull Ring he indicated that he has been less comfortable in the RB18 recently. This has led to suggestions that Red Bull Racing are developing the car around Max Verstappen, but the championship leader denies that is the case.
The RB18 was basically a good fit with Perez's driving style, but the Mexican feels that since the latest updates that is less the case. Red Bull's claim that the car is designed to Verstappen's wishes is nonsense, the reigning world champion told the press conference after the sprint race in Austria.
Verstappen denies Red Bull is developing according to his wishes
"I think in general we always try to make the car faster," the Dutchman began his explanation. "Whatever hey bring to the car you have to adapt to that. And that's certainly what I've been doing."
He continues: "Of course I say what I would like for my car in general, but the upgrades on the car are not specifically designed around me." Everything is aimed at getting more speed out of the car, Verstappen concludes his story.
