Schumacher not ready for top team: 'No need to rush it'

Mick Schumacher has scored two points in the last two races. Nico Rosberg is happy with the young German's development but thinks a move to a top team is still too soon for him.
Schumacher improves
Speaking to Eurosport.de, Rosberg is asked about Schumacher's development. The 2016 world champion is happy to see that the newspapers are reacting positively to Schumi's performance these days, but thinks a switch to a top team is still far too early.
According to Rosberg, the eighth place at Silverstone and the fight with Max Verstappen was important for Schumacher. "Psychologically it is worth a lot to him, because he is finding a positive mental spiral now," Rosberg said. This positive spiral will help the young German to achieve more good results in the coming races, Rosberg believes.
Not gone yet at Haas
Although results have finally improved, Rosberg believes it is important for him to continue to develop at Haas F1 for some time. "It would make sense for him to take his time before moving on to a top team," Rosberg says of his compatriot.
The former Mercedes driver points to George Russell. The Briton first drove three seasons for Williams, which largely rode stiffly at the back. "There is no need to rush things," Rosberg concludes.
