Ferrari have made quite a few mistakes this season, but Charles Leclerc doesn't want to criticise his team. According to the Monegasque, the Italian team is not behind Red Bull Racing when it comes to operational matters.

Leclerc hits back

It was a relief for Leclerc to finally stand on the top step of the podium again. The Ferrari driver had not reached the podium in five races and had not even won in seven. The title dream seemed to be fading away, but with his latest victory he is back in second place in the battle for the world title.

However, not everything seems to be as great as it seems, as there are also many problems at Ferrari. Carlos Sainz and Leclerc, for example, are both on edge over used engine parts and Sainz's retirement in Austria also showed how unreliable the F1-75 is. When Leclerc is asked if the operational side is a weakness compared to Red Bull, he defends his team.

Weakness of Ferrari

''I don't think so. I have full confidence in the team. And I think we've shown after ‘20 and 2021 that we have the team to come back at the top then. Of course we've done a few mistakes in the last races, in Silverstone in Monaco, but this happens to every team and now we are a bit more in the spotlight because we are fighting for wins,'' Leclerc said at the press conference.

According to the second in the championship, Ferrari is working to avoid these mistakes in the future and to become better as a team. However, the Monegasque does not see a weakness in his team compared to the competition.
