Christian Horner saw Carlos Sainz more than half a second faster than Max Verstappen's Red Bull, but he doesn't seem too worried. The Austrian team's boss says the RB18 looks competitive on all fronts based on the first two free practice sessions.

"They [Ferrari] have had a quick car all year, and I think that we can see they are competitive again this weekend. There was one lap where they might have gone up one engine mode - the first lap on the tyre. We look competitive on the medium, soft and long run." Horner told Sky Sports.

In the final twenty minutes, Red Bull, like everyone else, focused on the race simulations heading into Sunday. "We seemed relatively okay," says the British chief. Verstappen drove a relatively short run on the mediums. "It was only a five lap run, but on the whole a lot of information to take a way."

Red Bull can still do better in Sector 3

Sergio Perez experimented a little in the second session of the day, but it paid off. He finished in tenth place, one second behind Verstappen. Red Bull at least knows which way not to go, laughs Horner. He concludes by saying, "We are competitive in the first sector, very competitive in the second and sector 3 is where we need to tidy up a bit."
