Max Verstappen has won the French Grand Prix while the number one at Ferrari crashed out. Red Bull Racing is therefore well ahead in the F1 Constructors' Championship. Mercedes, as the second team of the weekend, also scored well.

Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc to score 25 points more than the Monegasque, while Sergio Perez also finished ahead of the other Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz and scores one point more due to the Spaniard's fastest lap. With a total of 396 points eight victories and fifteen podiums, Red Bull is still top of the constructors' table and is 26 points ahead of Ferrari. The Italians currently have 314 points in total and so are still 82 points short of their rival.

Mercedes also take a big step in the championship; towards Ferrari and away from McLaren and Alpine. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished on the podium together and collect no less than 33 points. This brings them to a total of nine podiums this season and they have gained 270 points. With only 44 points behind Ferrari, the battle for P2 is not yet over. In the battle for P4, 'best of the rest', Alpine is doing good business. The team of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon picked up 12 points in France against rival McLaren's eight points. There is a small lead.
