Helmut Marko is not happy with Sergio Perez's current pace. The Mexican is far behind teammate Max Verstappen and will not be able to do much tactically for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Verstappen set the fourth fastest time in today's second free practice session, but team-mate Perez finished only ninth. Speaking to Sky Germany, Marko said that the Mexican was 'unfortunately' again far behind the World Champion in France last weekend. Perez finished fourth with a gap of over seventeen seconds towards Verstappen.

"We now have to see if this is a trend or just an interim low, but at the moment it doesn't look good. The gap is too big to be of any tactical use," the Red Bull advisor said. The team expects a tough battle against Ferrari at the Hungaroring, so Red Bull will have to pull out all the stops to beat the Italians.

Perez hopes for improvement

Perez told reporters after free practice that the team was trying out many different things with the RB18 today. The Red Bull driver hopes to improve towards Saturday and Sunday.
