Daniel Ricciardo has reportedly been approached by Haas about the possibility of a Formula One seat in 2023. According to ESPN, team boss Guenther Steiner contacted the Australian, whose time at McLaren seems to be coming to an end, prior to the Hungarian Grand Prix.

'Haas approached Ricciardo for 2023 seat'

It seems Ricciardo is heading for an early exit at McLaren. Alpine seems to be the most logical destination for the Australian, but Haas is also said to have shown interest in the driver. Steiner is said to have made a phone call prior to the Hungarian GP.

It is yet another rumour in the 'silly season', which mainly revolves around the soap opera surrounding Oscar Piastri and Alpine. Haas has not yet decided on Mick Schumacher's contract and Alpine is not prepared to give up Piastri just yet. Ricciardo will also want to weigh up his options, so the rumour mill will continue to churn.
