Verstappen stops after just ten minutes, mechanical problems with RB18
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen stalled during the first free practice for the Dutch Grand Prix. The mechanical problems occurred after less than ten minutes at the Zandvoort circuit.
For Verstappen it is not the desired start of the weekend. The Dutchman will not be in action during FP1 and so precious time will be lost. Sergio Perez is on his own when it comes to collecting data. There is a relatively high chance that Verstappen will be able to participate in the second free practice again.
Verstappen's stoppage resulted in a red flag. It took some time before the RB18 was removed from the asphalt. After ten minutes the first session of this weekend resumed.
Red Bull confirmed to GPblog that it was a transmission issue. The team told Verstappen not to move any further to prevent additional damage.
