It seems more and more likely that Pierre Gasly will leave for Alpine. Helmut Marko confirmed to F1 journalist Chris Medland at the Zandvoort circuit that an agreement has already been reached with Colton Herta to drive Formula 1 at AlphaTauri next year.

Medland says that "all parties" have agreed to Herta's arrival. A personal agreement is already in place, but the FIA still has to grant Herta a super license. The American does not have enough points, but there are a number of exceptions possible for the American driver. It is therefore up to the FIA to decide.

Gasly must therefore reportedly also wait for his Alpine transfer. Marko would only let Gasly leave for the French team if Herta can be brought in. If Herta is not granted a super license then Gasly could forget about a move to France (for the time being).
