De Vries in action during VT1 Monza
It is the third time this year that the Dutchman will be in action during a free practice session. He did the same on behalf of Williams and later on Mercedes, for whom De Vries is test and reserve driver. Last time he took place in Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes, but it is likely that the driver will also get a chance in George Russell's car later in the season.
In a statement on the Official website of Aston Martin De Vries let it be known that he is looking forward to being in action on behalf of the team. "Particularly at such a legendary circuit as Monza," he added. For De Vries it will not only be his third FP1 session of the season, he will also be driving a different chassis for the third time.
"These opportunities have given me a fantastic insight into how Formula One cars and teams function and operate," he continued. "I hope I can bring a fresh perspective to the AMF1 team and can undertake a run-programme that proves beneficial to us both."
