Full results FP1 Italian GP | Still a lot more in it for Verstappen
- GPblog.com
The pressure is on for Ferrari as they look to make a name for themselves in front of the iconic Monza track. In the first free practice session for the Italian Grand Prix, it did so well, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in first and second respectively at the end of the first practice session of the weekend.
Behind them, it was the Mercedes who took places three and four. This means that, for the first time in a long time, we do not see a Red Bull driver in the top four. Max Verstappen finished fifth, but he certainly has the speed to run at the very top. During FP1 he was hampered in his fast run by Lando Norris.
The second Dutchman of today finished nineteenth. There might have been a bit more for Nyck de Vries, but in the final phase he braked and could not improve his time.
