Max Verstappen spoke to Viaplay with a satisfied feeling about the Italian Grand Prix. While Ferrari did everything in their power to take victory in front of their own fans, it was Verstappen who pulled the longest straw.

With a safety car entering the track at the end of the race, Charles Leclerc hoped to go for the win. However, race control decided to let the drivers finish behind the safety car. "We really did have the speed today to win," judged Verstappen.

"Of course, you don't expect beforehand that you'll have a start like that and come through it so beautifully. It all worked out well and the speed was good from the start. We were able to pay good attention to our tyres and it went really well on both the softs and mediums."

Verstappen happy for De Vries

Nyck de Vries also managed to finish in the points. On his Formula One debut, he finished ninth, making a good impression at Williams. It is the first time in history that two Dutchmen have finished in the points. "That is also positive. Hopefully, that happens more often," said Verstappen.
