Williams team boss clear towards De Vries: "It is very much up to him"

Nyck de Vries put in an excellent performance this weekend. Where he only had the chance to get used to his Williams car in the third free practice session, he still drove in the points. Speaking to Viaplay after the Italian Grand Prix, Jost Capito was impressed with his high level of performance.
The team boss says he has known De Vries for years and knows what the Dutchman can do, but found the performance in Italy very impressive. As he could not get into the Williams car until Saturday morning, he had little time to prepare.
"It came out of nowhere for him and then to do such a professional and fantastic job. It's just out of this world," Capito said, noting that many people would not understand how difficult the job was for De Vries. "It's extremely difficult to turn your focus around."
Capito is open to working with De Vries
Partly due to this weekend's success, Capito does not rule out De Vries getting a permanent seat at Williams in the future. "He is always on the list, but he also has other commitments. It's very much up to him. He showed what he can do in F1 and he didn't surprise me."
