Max Verstappen is not worried about the Singapore Grand Prix. While the Monaco GP was not yet the right circuit for the RB18, Verstappen believes those problems have now been resolved.

Verstappen to Singapore

In 2022 Red Bull Racing has designed a car that is particularly strong on the straights and in fast corners. As a result, the team has already racked up many victories. This year they also won in Monaco, but by Sergio Perez. Max Verstappen had a harder time turning his car around in the narrow streets.

In Singapore, F1 will for the first time be back on a street circuit with similar sections to Monaco. Although Singapore also has a few faster sections and is much longer, the comparison with Monaco is not crazy. Still, Verstappen believes the race, which is only three weeks away, will not be a worry for Red Bull.

Overweight of RB18

''I explained before: because the car was very overweight, it was just the wrong place of the car as well overweight so that's why it was just understeering a lot  more and prone to front locking. So I don't think it will be a problem in Singapore but maybe we encounter different kind of things. We haven't been there in a while, it's normally quite a bumpy track, so we just need to work on the setup, see how these cars react to the bumps and try to go as fast as possible'', Verstappen said on the FIA press conference after the Italian Grand Prix.

However, the drivers and teams can first enjoy a two-week break. With the Russian Grand Prix cancelled and no replacement found, there is a gap in the calendar. On 2 October the Singapore Grand Prix will be held, immediately followed by the Japan GP. With four more races in five weeks the season promises to end very nicely.
