Drugovich prepares at Silverstone for possible 2022 F1 debut

Felipe Drugovich has completed his first day of work for Aston Martin. The Brazilian will be the team's official reserve driver from 2023, but as part of Aston Martin's new training team, he looks set to make his F1 debut as early as 2022.
Drugovich had not been characterised prior to this season as a driver who could potentially be considered for a move to F1. The 22-year-old driver had no ties to an F1 team and was entering his third season in Formula 2. Nevertheless, his season in which he won the title just one race before the end impressed many teams.
Drugovich to F1
Aston Martin is the team that has struck. The Brazilian will become Aston Martin's reserve driver in 2023 (currently Nico Hulkenberg) and will also become part of the new training programme. Indeed, Lawrence Stroll, following the lead of Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Mercedes and Alpine, would also like to have his own junior team.
On Twitter, the British formation reveals that Drugovich has now completed his first day at the factory at Silverstone. The F2 champion has driven laps on the simulator and also had his F1 seat made. The team indicates in the message that this is for later in the year, so the chances of Drugovich being allowed to make his debut in F1 as early as 2022 during a free practice session seem pretty high.
