There is no panic at Red Bull Racing after a somewhat lacklustre Friday in Singapore. Max Verstappen was more beside his car than in it in the second free practice, and Sergio Perez was visibly struggling, not getting beyond the ninth time. Yet Helmut Marko is not so pessimistic about the rest of the weekend.

Red Bull is one of the teams with the least mileage behind its team after the first two free practice sessions. The reason Verstappen was so little in action in the second practice session was a drastic change to the RB18's set-up.

Marko talks about Friday

Marko: "For the few laps Max drove, the time is okay. If we can solve the problems, we will be back in front," the Red Bull Racing consultant said in conversation with ORF. Ferrari was over three-tenths faster than Verstappen, but that gap is still bridgeable in the eyes of the Austrians.

At Red Bull, they were hoping the temperature would drop quite a few degrees between FP1 and FP2, but that was a bit disappointing. The difference was only four degrees. Still, that is not the reason why Red Bull was not quite there. "The problems have nothing to do with the temperature. As I said, [we had] different problems with Max and Sergio and we now have to find out in detail why that was," Marko said.
